Welcome! The idea is to request full sacramental union between the TAC and the bishop of Rome, and thus with the Catholic Church. The TAC bishops want to be in full communion with the bishop of Rome, and with all those in full communion with the bishop of Rome. There may be issues with the Anglican orders, but if the petition is granted, then this would eliminate the schism between these Anglicans and the Catholic Church. That is a schism that goes back to Henry VIII.
This is a forum for charitable dialogue and discourse for the purpose of achieving the full visible unity of all Christians in truth. Please avoid ad hominems, rants, personal attacks, and table-pounding assertions. You are welcome to offer observations, arguments, evidence, questions, or objections, in a spirit of openness and humility, with the aim of bringing all Christians into the unity Jesus describes in John 17.

I'm a little new to all of this, so forgive my ignorance.... but what exactly does that mean? to petition Rome for Union?
