I think you handled yourself admirably in that discussion in the midst of some ridiculous charges, and demonstrated quite well exectly why I do not hesitate to embrace the faithful believers within the Roman communion my brothers in Christ.
Thank you very much Jonathan. I thought the same about you in your recent public discussion regarding Baptists/Catholics.
I have a friend who went to GC; his name is Jonathan Beeson; his wife's name is Anastasia. He pastored a church in New Haven for a while. Do you know him or know of him?
Just so you know, my Deuteronomy 18 reference in post #156 was not meant as an insult. I in no way want to insinuate that Praying to saints is anything like the offenses mentioned in that chapter. The passage clearly doesn't say or prove what I thought it did at the time.
You're also showing a cool head in the midst of some very stupid rhetoric. I wish I had that ability.
This is a forum for charitable dialogue and discourse for the purpose of achieving the full visible unity of all Christians in truth. Please avoid ad hominems, rants, personal attacks, and table-pounding assertions. You are welcome to offer observations, arguments, evidence, questions, or objections, in a spirit of openness and humility, with the aim of bringing all Christians into the unity Jesus describes in John 17.

Bryan,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your eloquent responses in defense of our faith in Christ and his Church, and in your charity in giving them.
All praise to Jesus Christ!
Bryan,
ReplyDeleteThe name actually sounds somewhat familiar, though I cannot seem to put a face to it.

No problem Stewart. I didn't take any offense. I appreciate your leaving me this note to clarify.

Hi--
ReplyDeleteHow funny! I, too, went to GCTS with Jonathan Beeson. I've lost track of where he's at now, though.
